Here's the Culprit

I'm 99% sure we're currently dealing with Rotavirus. Nasty little bug. Fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for 3-8 days. Poor Lily had a rough day yesterday. I'm just trying to keep her hydrated and hope we're almost out of the woods.

Yeah, it could be that, or it could be the flu. We've had a lot of people get hit by it at work lately. They described the same symptoms as above. I thought rotovirus involved some sort of passing at the toilet?

Rotavirus lasts 3-8 days (unlike stomach flu, which is usually about a 36-hour bug), and yes, it is passed by "fecal-oral transmission." Being at the YMCA, where I know several children have had it this season, is a prime breeding ground for all kinds of kid-passed nastiness.

I heard that the Y had a sign that warned of the Rotavirus. I also heard that a second sign was posted saying, "Coming Soon - Fecal matter with ecoli in the pool!"
