Some Progress
September 13, 2008
Sorry it's been so long since my last entry. We had lots of out-of-town stuff going on. Last night we attended the opening of Destruct | Construct at Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights. It's a good show; I think the work is a bit inconsistent, but it all fits the theme excellently and there are some really stunning pieces. I had a nice chat with the gallery director and Eve Jensen, one of the artists in residence there. Her recent work is all about stones, memory/history, and landscape in a way I really related to.
I was rejected from this year's South Shore Arts Salon Show, which is a bummer because I had so much fun with that one last year. But, it's not like I haven't got anything else going on this fall. I shall soldier on. I'm almost done with the piece I'm working on as a wedding gift for friends M&L. I feel safe posting here because I'm pretty sure they don't read my blog and I've already given them a sketch... apologies for the crappy photo. I'll get a good one before I send it off. The working title is "'Til Death" but I think that's too... I don't know, something. Suggestions welcome.
